This page explains the terms that apply when you use FollowMe Tracking Service and how we collect, use, protect, and share information through our apps, websites, and tracking services.

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of FollowMe Tracking Service ("FollowMe", "we", "us", or "our"), including our mobile apps, websites, web portal, tracking devices, and related services. By accessing or using FollowMe, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Service Description

FollowMe provides boat, vehicle, asset, and personal tracking services in the Maldives. The service may include GPS tracking devices, mobile apps, a web portal, public asset listings, private sharing, alerts, trip history, and related support services.

2. Tracking Service Reliability

Tracking accuracy and availability depend on GPS signal, mobile network coverage, device power, SIM status, internet connectivity, and proper installation. You understand and agree that:

  • GPS devices require a clear line of sight to GPS satellites. Accuracy may be reduced indoors, under cover, in dense urban areas, during poor weather, or where satellite signals are weak or blocked.
  • GSM or mobile-network-based devices must be within supported network coverage. If the device loses network connectivity, the service may show only the last known location and may be unable to upload trip details or send instant notifications.
  • The device may stop updating if its SIM card has no credit, is suspended, is inactive, or if the device has no power or an unreliable power connection.
  • We use industry-standard hosting infrastructure, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, mobile network availability, third-party internet connectivity, or access from every customer location.

3. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate account, contact, asset, and device information.
  • Installing, operating, and troubleshooting devices according to instructions provided by FollowMe or an authorized installer.
  • Maintaining a reliable DC power source for each tracking device. Power failure is not considered a device fault.
  • Keeping each device SIM active, including paying postpaid bills or reloading prepaid credit where applicable.
  • Using the service lawfully and only for assets, devices, and users that you own, manage, or are authorized to track.
  • Managing who can access or view your private tracking data when you share devices or assets with other users.
  • Promptly reporting service issues and providing reasonable field assistance when device inspection, maintenance, or troubleshooting is required.

4. Acceptable Use

You must not use FollowMe to track any person, asset, boat, vehicle, or device without proper authorization. You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with service operations, reverse engineer the platform, or use FollowMe for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.

5. Public and Private Sharing

Some assets may be listed publicly, while others may be shared only with selected users. Asset owners and account holders are responsible for choosing the correct visibility settings and for ensuring that shared users are authorized to view the relevant tracking information.

6. Boat Charter and Operator Listings

Where FollowMe helps customers find or contact boat operators, FollowMe acts as a platform or facilitator only. Unless expressly agreed in writing, FollowMe is not the boat operator, transport provider, or charter contract party. Customers and boat operators are responsible for confirming trip details, prices, safety requirements, availability, permits, insurance, timing, and any other arrangements between them.

7. Payments, Subscriptions, and Refunds

FollowMe may collect subscription fees and other service charges through online payment methods, bank transfer, cash, or other approved payment channels. Fees, billing periods, device charges, SIM charges, installation charges, and support charges may vary depending on the service package agreed with the customer.

  • Monthly and annual subscriptions: Customers may pay for subscriptions monthly or annually, depending on the available package. Annual subscriptions cover 12 months of service.
  • Annual payment discount: FollowMe may offer a special discount for customers who pay for 12 months in advance. The annual discount applies only to the eligible subscription period and package shown at the time of payment or agreed with the customer.
  • Activation and renewal: Subscriptions are activated or renewed after payment is received and confirmed. The subscription period may start from the date of activation, renewal, or another date agreed with the customer.
  • No cash refunds: Subscription payments, annual payments, prepaid amounts, device charges, SIM charges, installation charges, and support charges are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
  • Use of paid balance: If a subscription cannot be used as originally planned, any eligible unused payment balance may be applied as service credit toward active FollowMe subscriptions, renewals, upgrades, or other FollowMe services approved by us. Service credit has no cash value and cannot be transferred outside FollowMe unless we agree in writing.
  • Plan changes: If a customer changes package, adds devices, removes devices, or changes the billing period, fees may be adjusted on a prorated or agreed basis. Annual discounts may be lost or recalculated if the customer changes from an annual package to a monthly package before the end of the paid period.
  • Taxes and payment charges: Prices may exclude applicable taxes, bank charges, card processing charges, gateway fees, currency conversion fees, or other third-party charges unless stated otherwise. The customer is responsible for any such charges.
  • Failed, late, or disputed payments: If payment fails, is reversed, is charged back, or is not received by the due date, FollowMe may suspend or terminate access to the service, stop device updates, or withhold support until the account is settled.
  • Third-party payment providers: Online payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. FollowMe is not responsible for delays, outages, declined transactions, or errors caused by banks, payment gateways, card networks, mobile wallet providers, or other third parties.

8. Developer API Terms

FollowMe may provide a public developer API for boat tracking and related tracking data. By accessing or using the FollowMe Tracking Service API, developers, applicants, website owners, application owners, and other API users agree to these Developer API Terms in addition to the rest of these Terms of Use.

  • Purpose: The API is provided to help developers integrate FollowMe tracking information into convenient and accessible applications for end users.
  • Free API access: Unless FollowMe agrees otherwise in writing, the public API is provided free of charge and may be limited, changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
  • Commercial restriction: The public API must not be used in any website, application, or service that requires a paid subscription, license fee, usage fee, or other payment from end users, unless FollowMe gives prior written approval.
  • Rate limits and caching: API users should cache and store API responses on their own servers where frequent access is needed. API users must not call the FollowMe API more than once per minute, unless FollowMe gives written approval for a different limit.
  • Attribution and branding: API users must display an official FollowMe Tracking Service logo or clear FollowMe attribution on every page or screen that interacts with or displays data retrieved from the FollowMe API.
  • Map and third-party terms: If API data is displayed on maps or with third-party services, the API user is responsible for complying with the terms, licenses, attribution rules, and usage limits of those map or third-party service providers.
  • Data accuracy and safety: API data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or affected by GPS, GSM, device, SIM, internet, hosting, or maintenance issues. API data must not be used as the sole source for emergency response, navigation, safety-critical decisions, law enforcement action, or any use where inaccurate or delayed location data could cause harm.
  • No misuse: API users must not scrape, overload, resell, sublicense, redistribute, reverse engineer, bypass access controls, hide FollowMe attribution, misrepresent API data, or use the API for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or unauthorized tracking purposes.
  • Changes and compatibility: FollowMe may modify, update, version, or discontinue the API from time to time. We may try to maintain backward compatibility with the most recent previous version where practical, but compatibility is not guaranteed.
  • Suspension or termination: FollowMe may temporarily or permanently suspend API access without prior notice if we believe an API user has violated these terms, exceeded rate limits, misused data, affected service stability, or created legal, security, privacy, or operational risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FollowMe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by GPS limitations, mobile network failure, internet outages, SIM issues, power failure, incorrect installation, customer misuse, unauthorized sharing, or third-party services. FollowMe is not responsible for loss or damage to boats, vehicles, assets, devices, or property during installation or use of the service, except where required by applicable law.

10. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the service or these Terms of Use from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of FollowMe after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FollowMe collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use our apps, websites, tracking devices, and related services.

1. Who We Are

FollowMe Tracking Service is a boat, vehicle, asset, and personal tracking service provider in the Maldives. Our services are available through the FollowMe mobile apps, the web portal at followme.mv, tracking devices, and related customer support channels.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information, depending on how you use the service:

  • Account information: name, phone number, email address, company name, login details, and other information needed to create and manage an account.
  • Asset and device information: boat, vehicle, asset, device, SIM, installation, and service package details.
  • Location and tracking data: current location, historical location, trip records, movement status, alerts, and related tracking information from GPS devices or the FollowMe app.
  • App and website information: device type, browser type, IP address, app usage, diagnostic logs, cookies, and similar technical information.
  • Support and communication records: messages, calls, emails, service requests, and other communications with us.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide tracking, location sharing, alerts, trip history, public listings, private sharing, and other service features.
  • Create, manage, support, and secure customer accounts.
  • Install, activate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve tracking devices and services.
  • Communicate with customers about service updates, support requests, billing, and operational matters.
  • Prevent misuse, protect the service, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our terms.

4. Location Data and Background Tracking

Location tracking is a core function of FollowMe. Tracking devices send location data to our platform so authorized users can monitor assets and view current or historical locations. The FollowMe mobile apps may also include a self-tracking feature that users can enable or disable. When enabled, the app may collect and transmit location data, including in the background where the operating system permission and user settings allow it, so the selected tracking feature can work properly.

Users and account holders can share tracking data with selected users or make certain asset information publicly visible. The asset owner or account holder is responsible for managing sharing permissions.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only as needed for the service, including:

  • With users authorized by the asset owner or account holder.
  • With service providers who help us host, operate, maintain, support, analyze, or secure the service.
  • With advertisers or advertising technology providers only where ads are displayed and subject to their own policies and applicable consent requirements.
  • When required by law, regulation, court order, government request, safety concern, or to protect our rights, users, or services.
  • In connection with a business transfer, merger, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, with appropriate notice where required.

6. Cookies and Third-Party Services

Our website and apps may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, support login sessions, improve performance, and provide a better user experience. We may also use third-party services such as hosting providers, analytics tools, maps, notifications, and advertising services, including Google AdSense where advertisements are shown. These third parties may collect information according to their own privacy policies. You can disable cookies in your browser or device settings, but some service features may not work properly.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information and tracking data, including access controls and secure transmission where appropriate. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and users are responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep personal information and tracking data for as long as needed to provide the service, support customers, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Customers may request account deletion or data deletion by contacting us. We may retain limited information where required for legal, billing, security, fraud prevention, backup, or legitimate business purposes.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also disable app-based self-tracking, revoke location permissions in your device settings, stop sharing an asset with other users, or contact us for help managing your account and sharing settings.

10. Children

FollowMe is not intended for children. Users must not create accounts for children or track a child through the service unless they have the legal authority and consent required by applicable law.

11. Territorial Scope

Our services are intended for users located in the Maldives. We do not offer or market the services to individuals in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or other countries outside the Maldives. If you are located outside the Maldives, including in the EEA or UK, please do not use the app. We may take reasonable steps to restrict access from locations outside the Maldives and delete data received in error.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
